Who we are
MostlyCloudy Ltd runs this website and decides how the details you give us are used. In data protection law, that makes us the controller.
We’re registered in England and Wales, company number 16564773. For anything in this policy, email info@mostlycloudy.co.uk.
This policy covers this website: the Apply for access form, the free tools and The Splice. If your business uses MostlyCloudy, the data in your account is covered by your customer agreement.
What we collect
When you apply for access
Your first and last name, company name, email address, phone number, the type of business you run and your team size. If you answer the biggest challenge question, we get that too.
When you use the free tools
The tools work in your browser. We don’t receive the documents you build or the files you open, unless you ask us to email them to you. Then we receive your email address and the file.
If you send a contract for signature, we also receive the other person’s email address, so we can send them the contract and send you both the signed copy.
When you play The Splice
When you finish a game, the name, company and trade you enter are saved on our server with your score and shown on the public leaderboard. We don’t ask for your email. A copy also stays in your browser.
When you visit
When you send a form, our server records your IP address to stop spam and repeat submissions. Like most websites, it also keeps standard visit logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

We don’t use your details for marketing unless you’ve agreed to it, and we never sell them.
How long we keep it
- Applications
- If you become a customer, for as long as you’re a customer. If not, we delete your application 12 months after you sent it.
- Files you ask us to email
- Deleted as soon as the email has been sent.
- Server logs
- Deleted after 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- See the details we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your details
- Limit how we use them
- Object to how we use them
- Give you a copy to take elsewhere

Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your details, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
